PQ 2019 Grant Award Winner for Quadrennial Event, June 6-16, 2019
The 2019 Prague Quadrennial Grant application committee is pleased to announce that Jackson Cobb has been awarded this year’s grant!
Jackson is enrolled at Hamline University studying Theatre Arts and Digital Media Arts with a focus in multimedia and projection design for theatre and was a winner of a NBS Cover the Walls award with an exhibit of his video design and projection work at the NBS Fall Conference.
The 2019 PQ Grant is made possible by USITT Northern Boundary Section and the generous gifts from Schuler Shook,Staging Concepts and Wenger Corp.
Held once every four years in Prague, Czech Republic, the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space is the world's largest performance design event – a presentation of contemporary work in a variety of performance design disciplines and genres including costume, stage, lighting, sound design, and theatre architecture for dance, opera, drama, site-specific, multi-media performances, and performance art.

Student and Early Career Scholarships to Attend the USITT Annual Conference & Stage Expo
USITT Northern Boundary Section has had a long tradition of supporting scholarships for students and individuals in the early stages of their career to attend the USITT Conference and Stage Expo. This four-day conference, held yearly in a major city of the United States or Canada, is a gathering of design and production people from all over the world. The conference includes workshop sessions, presentations, a stage exposition, and design exhibitions from all areas of performance. Attending a national conference is an incredible experience for learning, connecting, socializing, as well as stretching your ideas about your place in theatre design, production or related performance areas.
The Northern Boundary Section, with help from corporate and individual sponsors, has supported 68 students (give-or-take some multiple winners) since 1998 to the tune of over $47,000 to attend the USITT Annual Conference.

To Apply for a scholarship:
1. Download and complete the Student Scholarship Application or the Early Career Scholarship Application.
2. Send the Application Form and related documents to Chairperson Corey Shelsta by October 15 at the address on the form. If you are joining USITT NBS as part of the application process, fill out a membership application and send it with payment to the section treasurer listed at the bottom of the member form.
